Greek Word of the Day – Fulfill/Pleroo (Strongs 4137)

17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
Matthew 5:17 (NASB)

You really should read all the definitions of today’s Greek Word of the Day.  It’s almost a mini-devotion taken in context with the scripture from Matthew above and the implications of what Jesus was talking about fulfilling.  Take a moment to read through those definitions and you’ll find words like abound, complete, nothing wanting, realization, consummate, perfect, end, accomplish, ratify, obeyed, and receive.  All these words are what the Greek word used means about what Jesus did regarding the Old Testament Law and why He came in the first place.
