On September 14, 2011 I was once again asked by Jim Perry at East Cobb United Methodist Church to fill in for him during his Wednesday evening Bible study called Hot Topics. At the time the news began discussing recent 2010 census figures and how the ‘poor’ in America had been dramatically increasing. I took this opportunity to ask the question, ‘Who are truly the poor among us’? Below is the document used in the class to spur the discussion.
