20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.
Matthew 18:20 (NASB)
Two interesting aspects of this word today. First, there is an aspect of fishing related to this word. The gathering of fish into a net or a net used to gather fish. Second, and my favorite, is the last entry in the lexicon for today’s Greek word: gathering into one’s home. This is especially poignant considering the early church in the first century would have almost exclusively gathered in someone’s home, having no outwardly acceptable location to meet as we do today.
